Think Good Thoughts.. Only The Good


Your thoughts and words carry weight and they can bring life or death, joy or destruction, welcome things into your life or repel them. Be mindful of what you think and stop yourself wherever you have to. The mind has a tendency to wander, and if you’re not careful it will wander into unwanted thoughts which could potentially steer you away from what you want. If those thoughts aren’t beneficial to you or adding value to your life, you don’t need them. Let them go. How? Replace them with better feeling thoughts. Thoughts contrary to those that are essentially depleting you. Don’t give yourself any explanations as to why you “can’t” do or have the things you desire. My brother always says, “You can be, do and have anything in this life. You just have to believe you can”. Something I live by strongly. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t believe that. A close friend of mine once said “take ‘can’t’ out of your vocabulary. Never say you can’t do, have or be something. Don’t give yourself that choice.” This is true, the only limitations are the ones you give to yourself. Don’t let the suggestions and opinions of other people play a part in how you think about your circumstances unless they are beneficial, uplifting and help you move towards the life you are creating for yourself. Also, don’t be afraid to hold back information from people if that’s what you need to do to hold on to your happiness. Be careful how much you share with people, not everyone is for you. Some people are nosey, some will try and look for or even create a dark cloud over your circumstances or the way you choose to think about your life. Recognise those people and lovingly keep your distance. Maintain your positive, focused outlook and perspective and don’t give them anything to tamper with. Regardless of your circumstances, you have the power to change things in your life for the better. 
Don’t feed your fears. Fear isn’t real. It’s merely false evidence appearing real. You know, we’re only born with 2 fears. As a baby, the only things you’re scared of is falling and loud noises. That means everything else we’re scared is learned. You teach yourself what to be afraid of or the world will teach you. Change your perspective, take charge and take a leap into better feeling thoughts. Joseph Prince says, “It takes a thought to gel a thought” (100 Days of Right Believing, Day 20; 2014), this couldn’t be more true. You are powerful beyond measure. Be kind to yourself and give yourself the freedom to think and speak better for a happier, more peaceful and prosperous life. 

Don’t get stuck in negative thought patterns and let negative thoughts make a home in your mind. Understand that you have the power to bring better things into your life, you just need to get hold of your thinking and give yourself permission to have more. If you catch your mind drifting, pull it back with contrary thoughts “No, I am loveable. I am loved. I am love. I have peace. I am happy. I am healthy. I am wealthy. I am confident. I am worthy. I am whole. I love myself. I love myself. I love myself”. Repeat your affirmations to yourself until you begin to feel it in your heart and allow yourself to live them. Begin first thing in the day and repeat at any other quiet moments you get as a reminder of what is coming. The more you repeat these things to yourself, the more you allow yourself to begin believing them no matter how seemingly far from “reality” they may be. When you welcome those thoughts in more, you welcome them into your life & allow them to manifest in reality. You create your reality with your mind.

Happiness is a choice. Peace is a choice. Choose the things you desire and keep choosing them until you have them. If you can think it in your mind then you can obtain it in your hands. Let yourself believe that you already have what you want, and watch it flow into your life. It takes 21 to reprogram your mind. 21 consistent days of intentional thoughts. Gratitude also plays a part in welcoming more into your life. “Gratitude gives altitude to your attitude.” Be grateful for what you have and what you want before it comes. Give thanks before you see it. Gives thanks that it is coming. Give thanks that it is already here. It’s already done.

Keep your thoughts focused on the good. Only the good. Conflicting thoughts will come but you have to fight them and replace them with better feeling thoughts. It may take some work but you’ll get there the more you shift your focus and become deliberate in your thinking. Positive people have negative thoughts too but they don’t let them consume their minds. Begin each day with affirmations, declaring your peace, love, faith, happiness, wealth, success, abundance, ease and flow into the atmosphere. Declare as though you already have it all. Be grateful for them. Give thanks and continue each day with this attitude of gratitude until it becomes your habitual nature. Let each day be a new opportunity for you to be, do and have more.

Always maintain a giving nature. You can want all these things but what are you willing to give? Be grateful for what you have in your life & be willing to give with a cheerful heart. If you’re just receiving, what good is that? When you focus on gratitude, you shift your mind from complaining to experiencing the things you’ve been given & welcome more into your life. Having a willing heart to give without wanting anything in return opens you up to receiving more of what this life has in store for you whilst giving you the reward of being a blessing to other people. Just as John Templeton points out in Discovering the Laws of Life, “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35), thanksgiving leads to having more to give thanks for (Templeton 1994; 13). Make gratitude a daily practice, recite 3 new things each morning to be thankful for then begin your affirmations and continue the day with an expectant heart that things are working in your favour. Continue until your beliefs begin to change and more good things become a regular occurrence in your life.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
